EOLAS GINEARÁLTA

Tagann an polasaí seo faoi chumhacht an dlí faoi mar atá leagtha amach san Acht Oideachais (1998). Tá iontaoibh ag an mBord Bainistíochta go gcuideoidh a leithéid seo leis na tuismitheoirí maidir le cúrsaí clárúcháin sa scoil.

This enrolment policy is being set out in accordance with the provisions of the Education Act (1998). The Board of Management trusts that by so doing parents will be assisted in relation to enrolment matters.

Tacaíonn an scoil leis an prionsabail seo a leanas:

  • Cuimsitheacht go h-áirithe i Leith míchumasach nó le riachtannais speisialta.
  • Comhionannas maidir le bheith rannphairteach sa scoil.
  • Rogha na dtuismitheoirí maidir le clarú a bpáiste sa scoil.
  • Tabharfar áird ar éagsulacht traidisiúin, teangacha, creideamh, gnásanna, nósanna, cultúir éagsúla 7rl.

The school supports the following principles:

  • Inclusiveness, particularly with reference to the enrolment of children with a disability or other educational need.
  • Equality of access and participation in the school.
  • Parental choice in relation to enrolment.
  • Respect for diversity of values, beliefs, traditions, languages etc.

‘Sé an Bord Bainistíochta a dhéanann an cinneadh de réir polasaí na scoile maidir le clárú na bpáistí sa scoil. De réir an Acht Oideachais Sóisialta (2000) cuirfidh an Bord scéala faoin gcinneadh chuig na tuismitheoirí laistigh de 21 lá. Dé ghnáth má bhíonn spas sa scoil cuirtear seo in iúl do na tuismitheoirí ar an lá a líontar an fhoirm iontrála.

Decisions in relation to applications for enrolment are made by the Board of Management in accordance with school policy. The Board will notify parents of their decision within 21 days of receiving such information. As a general principle and in so far as is practicable having regard to the school’s enrolment policy, children will be enrolled on application, provided that there is space available.

Cloífidh an Bord Bainistíochta le treoracha na Roinne Oideachais & Eolaíochta maidir le lion na bpáistí i ngach rang, lion na múinteoirí sa scoil, riachtanaisí spáis agus cúrsaí slándála go ginearálta.

The Board will have regard for relevant Department of Education & Science guidelines in relation to class size and staffing provisions and/or any other relevant requirements concerning accommodation, including physical space and the health and welfare of the children.

SCOIL BHRÍDE

Tá an Bord Bainistíochta teoranta ag Rialacha na Bunscoile de réir na Roinne Oideachais & Eolaíochta a léiríonn nach féidir páiste a chlárú go dtí go mbíonn siad ceithre bliana d’aois. (Níl freastal éigeantacht go dtí do mbíonn páiste sé bliana d’aois)

The Board is bound by the Department of Education & Science Rules for National Schools which provides that pupils may only be enrolled from the age of 4 years and upwards, though compulsory attendance does not apply until the age of 6 years.

Páistí ag athrú ó scoil eile:

Is féidir le páistí a theacht na scoile ag brath ar chúrsaí spáis agus cead na Roinne Oideachais & Eolaíochta. Tá sé de dhualgas ar Bhord Bainistíochta na scoile eile tinrimh an pháiste a sheoladh go dtí an scoil eile agus tuairisc ar dhul chun cinn an pháiste fosta (cead na dtuismitheoirí riachtanach don tuairisc ar dhul chun cinn an pháiste)

Pupils Transferring:

Pupils may transfer to the school at any time, subject to school policy, available space an in some cases, the approval of the Department of Education & Science. It is a requirement of the Board of Management that information concerning attendance and the child’s educational progress be communicated between school. (Progress Report with parents consent)

Clarú Páistí le Riachtanaisí Speisialta:

Déanfar measúnú seiceolaíochta ar pháiste ar bith le riachtanais speisialta sula ndéanfar é/í a chlarú agus déanfaidh an Bord achan iarracht cibé cuidiú atá molta, le tacaíocht na Roinne Oideachais & Eolaíochta a bheith socruithe roimh ré. Uaireanta tharlódh sé go mbeadh ar an Bhord fanacht ar feadh tréimhse go dtí go mbeadh an tacaíocht caoi fáighte ón Roinn Oideachais.

Enrolment of Children with Special Needs:

In relation to applications for the enrolment of children with special needs the Board of Management will request a copy of the child’s medical and/or psychological report before he/she is enrolled. The purpose of the assessment report is to assist the school in establishing the educational and training needs of the child relevant to his/her disability or special needs and to profile the support services required.

It may be necessary for the Board of Management to defer enrolment of a particular child pending:

  • The receipt of an assessment report, and/or
  • The provision of appropriate resources by the Department to meet the needs specified in the psychological and/or medical report.

Polasaí Iontrála

  1. Iarrtar ar thuismitheoirí ar mian leo a bpáist(í) a chlarú I Scoil Bhríde foirm iontrála (le fail san oifig) chomh maith le teastas breithe agus baiste a chur isteach chuig oifig na scoile.

 

Parents and guardians seeking to enrol their children in Scoil Bhríde are requested to return a completed Enrolment Application Form (available in the school office) with original Birth and Baptismal Certificates to the school.

 

  1. Cuirfear ainmneacha na bpáistí ar cuireadh foirm iontrála isteach dóibh ar liosta feithimh.

The names of children for whom Enrolment Application and Certificates have been returned, will be placed on a class waiting list.

  1. Tugtar cothrom na Féinne d’achan pháiste atá ag iarraidh áit a fháil inár scoil.

Equality of access is the key value that determines the enrolment of children to our school.

  1. Tuigeann an Bord Bainistíochta go bhfuil céarta ag tuismitheoirí páiste a chlárú ina rogha scoil ach tá sé de dhualgas orthu meas a thaispéaint do phobal na scoile go háirithe dóibh siúd atá ar rollaí na scoile cheanna féin. Beidh cinneadh atá bunaithe ar chearta nadúrtha agus ar mhaitheas na bpáistí uilig a dhéanamh anseo. Ag tabhairt gach tacaíocht don scoil anseo atá sé de cheart ar an Bhord Bainistíochta socrú a dhéanamh fá uimihir na bpáistí I ngach seomra ranga ag glacadh na pointí seo a leanas san áireamh:
  • Méid agus spás na seomraí ranga
  • Riachtanais oideachais na bpáistí ag aois áirithe
  • Ranganna measctha
  • Páistí le riachtanais faoi Leith/riachtanais spéisialta
  • Treoracha na Roinne Oideachais & Eolaíochta ó thaobh uimhreacha ranga.

While recognising the right of parents to enrol their child in the school of their choice, the Board of Management is also responsible for respecting the rights of existing school community and in particular the children already enrolled. This requires balanced judgements which are guided by the principles of natural justice and acting in the best interest of all children. Assisting the school in such circumstances, the Board of Management reserves the right to determine the maximum number of children in each separate classromm bearing in mind:

  • Size of available space in classrooms
  • Educational needs of children of a particular age.
  • Multi-grade classes
  • Presence of children with special educational/behavioural needs
  • Department of Education & science maximum class average directives

  • Páistí ina gconaí i gceantar na scoile.

In the event of the number of children seeking enrolment in the reception class exceeding the number of places available preceding or during the school year, the following criteria will be used to prioritise children enrolment:

  • Brothers and sisters of children already enrolled-priority to oldest
  • the home language being Irish
  • Parental interest in the Irish language
  • Children of current school staff
  • In the event of being able to enrol a child/children from categories above at the beginging of the year, or mid-year, such children will receive priority in order of above for the subsequent year over other children on the class waiting list
  • Children living within the school area

6. Beidh lá cláraithe sa tríú téarma, beidh an data fógraithe i Nuachtlitir na paróiste. There is an Enrolment Day in the third term, which will be advertised in our parish Newsletter.

 

7. Tá ar pháistí cláraithe i Scoil Bhríde co-oibriú leis an scoil agus leis an Bhord ó thaobh polasaithe smachta, eagraíochta, banaíochta agus curriculum. Cuireann an Bord dualgas ar thuismitheoirí/choimheádaithe a chinntiú go ndéanann a bpáistí co-oibriú leis na polasaithe ar bhealach atá oiriúnach d’aois an pháiste. Is féidir cur leis na polasaithe sin agus iad a athrú ó am go h-am

Children enrolled in our school and their parents are required to co-operate with and support the School/Board of Management ‘s code of behaviour as well as all other policies on curriculum, organisation and management. The Board of Management places Parents/Guardians responsible for ensuring that their child/children co-operate with said policies in an age-appropriate way. These policies may be added to an revised from time to time
